Built-in safety adds about a 3-second delay whenever you reverse direction — give it a moment. If it's still silent, watch for the receiver's Learn LED, and try a fresh transmitter battery.
A tired coin cell is the usual culprit — swap it first. Keep a clear line of sight to the lift and stay within the effective range of roughly 300 ft.
The motor is simply wired in reverse. Swap the motor leads following the wiring diagram for your specific motor brand and direction will correct itself.
An auto-stop unit only works with GEM limit switches installed. Confirm they're fitted and that the lift actually stops at both the up limit and the down limit.
Chattering or a no-run usually points to low voltage or undersized wire. Check your supply voltage and verify the wire gauge is correct for the distance of your run.
Put the receiver in learn mode (press Learn once), then press Stop on the transmitter — the Learn LED flashes twice to confirm. Holding Learn for about 7 seconds clears every paired remote.

The current 7240 transmitter uses two CR2032 coin cells. The legacy 6230 transmitter uses a single 12 V A23 battery.
