Limited warranty

Every GEM control system is backed by a one-year limited warranty. Here's a plain-language summary of what we cover, what falls outside coverage, and the steps to make a claim.

Your coverage

One full year, parts included

GEM stands behind the workmanship and materials in every unit we build, for a full year from the day you bought it.

What's covered

For one (1) year from the original date of purchase, GEM will repair or replace any component that proves to be defective in materials or workmanship.

  • Term: One year from the original purchase date.
  • Remedy: Repair or replacement of the defective component, at GEM's discretion.
  • Parts: Provided at no charge for defects that qualify under this warranty.
  • Standing behind it: Engineered, assembled, and serviced in Naples, Florida.

What's not covered

This warranty applies to manufacturing defects only. It does not cover problems that result from how a product is installed, used, or maintained, including:

  • Misuse: Misuse, neglect, or accidental damage.
  • Installation: Improper installation or incorrect wiring.
  • Modification: Unauthorized modification or repair performed outside a GEM facility.
  • Instructions: Failure to follow GEM's instructions or the National Electrical Code.
  • Acts of God: Damage from storms, lightning, flooding, or other acts of God.
  • Misapplication: Use beyond the product's intended purpose.

How to file a claim

If you believe a product is defective, follow these steps to start a warranty claim:

  1. 1. Request authorization. Contact GEM to obtain a return authorization before sending anything back.
  2. 2. Ship the product to GEM. Send the unit to GEM so our team can inspect it. The customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
  3. 3. Include the returns form. Place the completed returns form in the package with the product.
  4. 4. Inspection & decision. After inspecting the unit, GEM determines whether the issue is covered under this warranty.

This page is a summary for convenience and does not replace the official warranty terms. If you have any questions about coverage or your specific situation, please contact GEM and we'll be glad to help.
